Dedicated to the loveliness of all girls and women
I LOVED this activity with our Young Women youth group!
It involved
CLOTHING
and
FRENCH COUTURE
and
CAKE POPS!
what's not to love?
There is so much immodesty out there these days.
Many women do not understand the power their bodies have over those of the opposite sex
and some women DO.
Ladies, we can be attractive, fashionable and even sexy
without revealing too many parts of our bodies.
PASS IT ON
We had two guest speakers, Tara and Lisa, who are both young gorgeous moms
that our Young Women could really fashion-relate to.
They were PERFECT!
These ladies have 8 kids between them, and they always look like a MILLION bucks
AND
they are ALWAYS dressed modestly!
I love the example they set for our youth!
They brought lots of
clothing
jewelry
scarves
and other accessories
to show how things can be layered and made extra cute.
Also, we had each of our Young Women bring at least one article of clothing from their own closets
that could be considered immodest, ie short shorts, strappy dresses, tanks, etc.
Tara and Lisa showed them how they could modest it up
by adding a sweater or shrug
leggings
modest tee's underneath
(you know, like Shade, DownEast, Modbe and so forth)
Tara
Lisa
They really listened to what the girls
were trying to convey with their articles of clothing.
I love the couture dress form to put different outfits together.
Thanks Ladies! You did an amazing job sharing your great ideas with the girls!
DECOR
We had WAAAAAY too much fun decorating for this activity!
:)
Mesa Temple
The Relief Society room was converted into a fashion runway!
Our whole color scheme came from these two boxes!
Ahhhh, don't you just love easy inspiration?!
REFRESHMENTS
The refreshments were pretty fun too!
See how I made the cake pops and stand HERE!
In spite of all the hoochie fashions out there,
dressing fashionably AND modestly is
EASY PEASY!
It's a choice.
A GOOD choice!
Girl's and ladies, honor yourself and those around you
by making the choice to cover up those areas that are questionable.
You will STILL be beautiful!!!
You will STILL be sexy!!!
Dedicated to the loveliness of all girls and women....
Wow, Cindy! You did an amazing job on this event! When my dd in is YW you are going to have to come and do something like this for them!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kendra! And thanks for tweeting this event! You're a sweetie!
DeleteI worked on the food and decor. All the credit for teaching the class goes to Tara and Lisa (Tara and I were just called to be YCL's leaders together at girl's camp this summer....excited to work with her!). But hey, we can always work something out! :)
This turned out so amazing and what a fun way to teach modesty!! I am your newest follower and would love if you would check out my blog...if you like what you see please follow back :)
